Why Feed Mealworms to Bluebirds?

not have to leave her eggs for long periods of time.

prevent the parents from finding insects.

protein to Bluebirds' regular diet of 85% insects and 15% seeds.

What are Mealworms?
..Mealworms are not really worms at all, but are the larval
form of the darkling beetle.
Bulk Mealworms are clean, easy to care for, don't carry human diseases,
& a nutritious food supplement readily accepted by Bluebirds.
Mealworm Shipping
Currently we are shipping via USPS Priority Mail, Next Day, and 2nd
Day. For each mealworm product, the shipping method can be found under the
product info for that product.
We ship via Priority Mail and 2nd Day on Mondays and
Tuesdays, and Wednesdays to most all States.
Exception: We ship via Priority Mail on Thursdays
to some postal zones in California, Arizona, and Nevada.
Next Day Mealworm Orders ship Monday thru
Thursday.
If the weather is above 55 F or below 42 F and you won't be home when
the shipment arrives, it is a good idea to leave an insulated container with a
note for the delivery person to put the package in to protect your Live
Mealworms from temperature extremes. During extreme temperature conditions,
please consider Overnight delivery.
Care of Live Mealworms
Bluebird Feeder Placement
Place the feeder in the open - within the Bluebird's clear
view from one of their favorite perches. Once discovered and the birds are
taking the food, you can move it gradually to a more desired location. Don't
mount the feeder on an occupied birdhouse, this may attract unwanted birds and
critters to the birdhouse.
