Information
Live Mealworms are a nutritious food supplement for feeding Bluebirds.
The ideal temperature range for storage is 42 F - 55 F.
Refrigerated mealworms will live for several weeks when care
instructions are followed properly.

to Care for Your Mealworms
The

mealworms will live for several weeks when care instructions are followed
properly.
How
To Care for Live Mealworms and Extend Their Lives
1.
Keep them in a refrigerator, or other cool spot.
2. Do not allow
them to freeze.
3. Take them out
of the refrigerator every 10 days.
4. Allow them to
warm up and start moving around (1-2 hours).
5. After the
Mealworms are moving around, put a few 1/4" cubes of apples or potatoes or
carrots in with them.
6. Leave out for
another 1-2 hours.
7. After 1-2
hours, refrigerate again.
8. The next time
you take them out of refrigerator (10 days):
...
....Remove
old apple cubes or whatever you used.
.......
After they start moving around, replace.with
new apple cubes or potatoes or carrots.
Storage
Containers Use
a shallow, smooth sided plastic tray or tub. If the sides of your container
are smooth enough, a lid should not be necessary. If a lid is used it should
be well ventilated.
